The Kings Arms can be found in Pentryrch in Cardiff and has a rich history, with its roots dating back as far as The Doomsday Book. The building first opened back in the seventeenth century, and part of its original features - the Grade II listed longhouse still stand. Inside this warm, country pub, you can expect to find exposed stone walls, an original flagstone floor, wooden beams and authentic open fireplaces, so you know that you’ll feel super cosy in this pub.
The team behind The Kings Arms first took over the pub in July 2018, and wanted to make it the perfect place for visitors to sit back and relax, in a space where everyone feels welcome. The team say that they pride themselves on providing a warm, comfortable atmosphere, with good, unpretentious food, and professional yet friendly service.
There are three different menus at the pub. The market menu consists of local, fresh ingredients and changes monthly to include dishes made from seasonal produce sourced from the nearby farms and seas. There's also a pub menu that features all the British pub classics, and keeps things simple. The pub is proud that there is a vegetarian and vegan option for almost everything on the menu. Lastly, the Sunday lunch menu is made with fresh British produce that is carefully prepared and cooked to order. There's nothing quite like a traditional roast in a traditional pub.
Expect to find delightful dishes like a ham and Black Bomber croquette with mustard dressing and pickled red onion for starters, a duck breast with confit carrots, roasted hazelnuts, beetroot puree, fondant potato and port wine jus for mains, and a Madagascan vanilla creme brulee with shortbread for dessert.
