If you're a Finchley local, The King of Prussia is a must-visit neighbourhood pub boasting stylish interiors, a great selection of craft beers and cocktails, homemade pizza and even a free juke box and shuffleboard.
First up, is it's ideal location: positioned literally two minutes walk from Finchley Central station, it's the perfect meeting point for friends to get together - both those living in Finchley and from further afield. Once inside, the vibrant decor and buzzy atmosphere immediately makes this a place to be. We particularly like the look of the rustic, copper-topped central bar, suspended greenery and mix of retro-inspired lounge seating (hello, lime green sofas) and banquettes with tables, which look cosy, too. In the summer months, the retractable-roof conservatory is stunning with wicker furniture, fairy lights and big potted palms; exactly what you want when enjoying a crisp pint in the sun.
Notice the neon 'free juke box' sign in the corner and select the latest tunes from the pub's offering of records, and shuffle board is available aswell. Other ways to stay entertained include the events section with quiz night every Tuesday, Wings Wednesday and 'two for one' nights on gins and pizzas.
As for the food, expect pub classics executed with contemporary flair and quality ingredients. To start, enjoy small plates such as harissa cauliflower wings with hazelnut dukkah, alongside pulled lamb shoulder tacos with pickled onion and carrots, and walnut and blue cheese stuffed mushrooms.
For mains, the smashed beef burger comes with applewood cheddar, burger sauce, fries, slaw and smoked chilli mayo, with a vegan option, also. There's beer battered haddock and chips with mushy peas and jalapeño tartare sauce, plus plum and earl grey baby back pork ribs with spicy plum coleslaw and fries - which we'd love to try! As mentioned earlier, the team are pretty proud of their homemamde sourdough pizzas, so be sure to try one of those, too, with toppings like moroccan lamb and Korean chicken.
