About
This Brixton Market restaurant/bar has tunnel vision, which in restaurant terms can be a true blessing. Cooking pork for 16 hours or slow-cooked chicken shredded by hands that aren’t specialized in it can be hit and miss – you can end up with dry, dull pap, but this place is dedicated to the art of real barbecue and they know what they’re doing. What started as a smash hit pop-up is now permanent, meaning really good marinades, careful cooking and wicked buns from the Bad Boy bakery in Brixton prison are here to stay, both south of the river and at The Joint Marylebone. Wines from the great BBQ regions of the world – South Africa and Australia - are offered alongside Brixton Brewery craft beers but the brave opt for the daily changing house cocktails mixed by the barmen and offered on tap.
