Great Food & Service
Went to the Hill last Thursday and was really taken by this great bar and restaurant. We sat down for dinner at 8pm to the mellow sounds of a jazz pianist playing in the corner. The bar area was buzzing but we had made reservations for dinner so moved into the dinning room which still had a great view of the piano. The menu was really perfect for what's we were looking for. Not stuffy at all but all mouthwatering. We went for the crispy squid and some oysters to start. Squid was cooked very well with a light, flakey batter on the outside and was served with a fresh coriander sauce which had a delicious sweet tangy taste to it. The oysters were lovely and fresh served on ice and with all the goodies. I could have definitely had another half dozen. For mains we went for the ‘flat iron’ steak which our waiter suggested to be served medium rare. We took his advice and it was a fantastic cut of beef perfectly seasoned. It was served with the best (non greasy) onion rings i have ever had and with a choice of chips or salad. We went for the chips. We also went for the ‘overboard’ burger which was a seafood burger with lots of crab and prawns. It was served in a sweet bun and with a very moorish lobster mayonnaise. A bit messy but absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, we didn't have time (this time) for dessert. Service was great too. Really friendly attentive service and with the jazz and the overall sexy atmosphere this is definitely one of my new favourites restaurants. Will be back very soon.
