About

A terrace of five converted townhouses provides the setting for the latest hotel by Living Rooms, owners of Europa House (Little Venice) and No. 5 Maddox Street. The hotel is named after Rhaune Laslett – organiser of the mid-1960s jamboree that became the Notting Hill Carnival – while the hotel’s chic monochromatic lounge bar references her co-pioneer Russell Henderson MBE, the nonagenarian steel-pan drummer who, in an ironic twist of fate, died soon after The Laslett opened in August 2015. Order Daiquiri or Pembridge Secret Garden (a Sipsmith gin, elderflower and cucumber Sour) from the list of £9 cocktails; or linger over reasonably priced wines (Picpoul de Pinet, £23). Food is served from breakfast until late, featuring a light menu created by celebrated local chef Sally Clarke. Anticipate creamy fennel risotto, super-salads, potted crab on sourdough toast, cheese and charcuterie boards, plus cakes and pastries. Friendly staff successfully juggle informality and professionalism.
