I went here with a lovely friend who can usually reliably manage to clear her plate. We were both defeatd by the delicious plateful of food placed in front of us. We chose from the fixed price menu so both had a starter and main course. Next time we will both know just to go for a main meal. Or make sure we are really hungry!
We both thoroughly enjoyed what we had, but could not manage to eat it all. Our waitress was happy to arrange a 'doggy bag' for my remaining large portion of fried cod, which pleased my dog no end on my return home. There is a good selection of drinks to choose from to accompany the food choices , and we were able to take the remains of the bottle of wine home too.
The only small let down, was that the atmosphere in the main restaurant could have been better. It was quite noisy to start with as it was half term. Once the children and parents/grandparents departed it was very quiet. You could not see the bar area from our table so not much to look at other than diners or empty tables. Great though for a catch up and a good gossip.
The service was absolutely fine and they didn't mind that we chatted for ages before we were ready to order. I would be wary taking my old mum, as the toilets are upstairs and it would be a bit of a treck for her.
Would be happ[y to returm for lunch or dinner here. We have been fpor breakfast too, they were great!
