The Gaerwen Arms is a warm and welcoming family restaurant and bar located on Chapel Street, Gaerwen. Locally inspired food is served daily from their traditional and inviting dining area, which is light airy and spacious. There is also a bar, and outdoor seating available.
The Gaerwen Arms has a restaurant menu, as well as a separate outdoor dining menu. The restaurant menu serves a tempting looking selection of nibbles and starters such as smoked mackerel served with rye sourdough, and Anglesey onion soup.
Main courses include plenty of traditional favourites such as beer battered cod served with triple cooked chips, and a dry aged sirloin steak which is served on the bone. There is also a vegetarian tofu curry served with onion bhaji and fresh coriander yoghurt.
The outdoor menu features many playful and tempting looking dishes such as the Picnic Table which includes a ham hock terrine, curet meat, sausage roll, Welsh cheddar, Anglesey Brewhouse beer and pickled shallots. There is also a truffled rarebit on toast and the Gaerwen Arms beef burger served with all the trimmings. You can also order sandwiches and children’s dishes from the outdoor menu, plus a selection of sides.
Desserts include many favourites such as sticky toffee pudding and an apple and custard slice. The bar has a good selection of wines, beers and spirits, as well as soft drinks, fresh tea and coffee.
The Gaerwen Arms bar also serves cocktails, including many traditional favourites and some house specials and mocktails.
