The Fuji Grill Sushi Bar is a stylish, atmospheric Omakase restaurant, housed within five-star hotel, Beaverbrook Townhouse in the heart of Chelsea. If you haven't visited the Townhouse before, you might have experienced its countryside counterpart, Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey, both of which have been lorded for their plush interiors and excellent service.
Situated towards the back of the hotel, the space is designed by Nicola Harding and inspired by a glamorous Anglo-Japanese vibe, with glossy, jewel-toned walls and bespoke details, like coffee tables topped with vintage Japanese matchbox covers. In the main restaurant, larger tables, smart booths and smaller tables make this place perfect for getting together with anyone from friends and family, to colleagues and clients.
As mentioned, the restaurant's concept is centred on Omakase, with an incredible nine course menu available every evening. To get a flavour of what to expect, check out the online sample menu which includes dishes like Obsi Blue Prawn with Truffle Yuzu Dressing, alongside Japanese Yellow Tail with Salted Seaweed, and Black Cod Tempura with Cha Soba Noodles.
If Omakase isn't your thing, get a load of the a la carte menu, which boasts a breadth of dishes. Why not start off with the small bites, like chicken dumplings with goma soy and spicy garlic layu or mushroom Harumaki with truffle ponzu. From the raw selection we like the sound of yellowtail Usuzukuri with yuzu miso and black truffles, as well as the lobster tempura with cha soba noodles and yuzu pepper. Then, there's the charcoal section with delights such as organic baby chicken, port miso, sancho pepper and lemon, plus Welsh lamb cutlets with Korean chilli spice and crispy quinoa.
As for the drinks menu, guests can enjoy a curated selection of Japanese spirits, as well as stand-out wine list, designed to complement the food.
