About

Following a remarkable and cherished 16-year tenure at The Egyptian House, the Lussmanns team are thrilled to be in their new home in the heart of Hertford. Step into this new establishment and be embraced by a stylish interior that seamlessly marries wood, leather, and glass elements. A harmonious colour palette is thoughtfully employed to craft the contemporary, inviting ambience that characterises Lussmanns, setting the stage for memorable dining experiences.

Head chef Stephen Rogers remembers friends suggesting that his true calling lay in the culinary world. Fate seemed to lead him into the industry during his early twenties, following his initial studies in animal management at university. Surprisingly, his background and passion for animal conservation played a pivotal role in his choice to join Lussmanns. Their unwavering commitment to sustainability, the use of locally sourced ingredients, and their dedication to offering a robust MSC certified fish menu resonated with Stephen’s ideals and ultimately influenced his decision.

Lussmanns stands as a culinary haven for those seeking a dining experience unlike any other. With a commitment to delivering excellence in every bite, the menu showcases a fusion of flavours and quality ingredients that will tantalise your taste buds. Begin your gorgeous meal with the enticing woodland-reared Sussex ham hock terrine, complemented by a delightful plum chutney and toasted sourdough. For a more adventurous start, the linguine fiorentina nduja offers a delicious blend of sun-blushed tomatoes, spinach, and walnuts, all entwined in perfectly cooked linguine.

As you progress through the menu, prepare to be captivated by dishes such as the Corsican slow-braised label Anglais free-range chicken, paired with lemon and apricot couscous, olives, spinach, and tomatoes. Alternatively, the North African spiced lamb style mince flatbread promises a mouthwatering combination of flavours, with a refreshing raita, sweet and sour onions, and a garden of aromatic herbs. For dessert, allow your senses to revel in the sweetness of a plum crumble, featuring hazelnuts, rosemary, and local ice cream, or opt for the refreshing pineapple carpaccio adorned with toasted coconut, lemongrass, and ginger.
