The Hub is a really unique, special space. Based in St Albans, this venue is a mix of many things. The open kitchen serves wonderful food throughout the day, including wild twists on favourites, with cocktails and coffee always flowing. Every month, live music is played alongside various pop ups. Whilst in the two screening rooms independent films, major sporting events, networking opportunities and workshops are all played out, with a menu of snacks, food and drinks that can be delivered right to your seat.
A mezzanine area provides a quiet space for working along with acting as a perfect backdrop for cosy drinks or private bookings. If you love the space, you can sign up and become a member, with plenty of perks from private booking spaces to special events. When it comes to food at The Hub the menus include a selection of sustainably sourced fish, meat and plant based dishes, with each designed to nourish and inspire your body and mind. Lunch and brunch is served from midday until 4pm, and begins with a dish of crushed courgettes on sourdough toast with Greek feta, mint and pickled lemon. Also on the menu is a grilled chicken Caesar brioche bun with a fried duck egg, parmesan and skinny fries, along with braised forest mushrooms on crumpets with poached eggs, truffle butter and cheese. For something a bit more punchy, try the roasted sweetcorn veloute with spiced nduja sausage, Ticklemore cheese and spring onion, or the beetroot salad with creme fraiche, cracked wheat, pine nuts, green chilli and kaffir lime dressing.
Whatever time of day you’re visiting, try the desserts — they include a buttermilk panna cotta with Scottish raspberries, white balsamic and pine nut brittle, along with a roasted peach and almond crumble served with vanilla ice cream and lavender honey.
