The Castell Mynach in Llantrisant is a country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character. Our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.
Built in the 1930's, the name Castell Mynach translates into English as: "The Castle of the Monks", referring to an old monastery which the pub overlooked. The ruins of the monastery still stand, providing an interesting site to explore. Originally a residence, the pub was extended to accommodate the hostelry and our pub restaurant now stands on the grounds of the old stables.
Our pub offers the best of town and country - close to the contemporary and historical delights of Cardiff, yet with great walks nearby. The name means Castle of the Monks, referring to a ruined monastery which the pub overlooks.
