Since moving to Chiswick from Fulham, this easy-going surf-&-turf joint hasn’t looked back. The dining room is furnished inoffensively in bistro tones, complete with multicoloured banquettes & exposed brickwork. On a buzzy weekday evening, tables spill out of the concertina doors on to the High Road, while inside waiters zip around with big plates of grilled lobsters & steaks. Starters can seem mundane – steak tartare lacks texture & the barbecued steak, chorizo & pepper kebab is the stuff of home barbecues. Mains are the real attraction, however, with the likes of sticky pork & beef ribs & a hulking côte de boeuf on the bone, joined by a special lobster menu for July. Banoffee pie brings a meal to a decadent end, & serviceable wines & cocktails provide decent drinking.
