Located on, you guessed it, Broughton Street, The Broughton is a well loved local pub, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. This cosy gastropub offers a fantastic menu, along with a delicious selection of beers, fine wines and creative cocktails. The doors first opened back in 2019, and the team works hard to keep up a feeling of being everybody’s favourite local. Whether you’re in the mood for a bite to eat, or just want to kick back with a refreshing pint, you’re welcome at The Broughton.
Starters are big enough to share at The Broughton and include options of St Andrews cheddar croquettes, crisp chicken with sriracha and sesame, and East of Scotland crab crumpets. Other dishes include the Isle of Wight tomato salad with whipped feta, beef tartare with brioche and Cobble Lane fennel salami and pickles. Your main dishes include a North Sea battered cod with tartare sauce and Koffman chips, wild mushroom risotto with crisp quail egg, English truffle and parmesan and slow cooked beef with house special mash, glazed carrots and red wine sauce. If you visit on a Sunday, you can enjoy one of The Broughton's award winning roasts including herb roasted chicken with hispi cabbage and yellow carrots, and roast dry aged rump of beef with Yorkshire puddings and duck fat roast potatoes.
With a fine menu such as this, you'll want to save room for dessert. Choices include a Perthshire strawberry panna cotta, Madagascan vanilla ice cream with lemon madeleines, and dark chocolate delice with roasted hazelnuts. If you're not quite done with the savoury, choose the selection of four British cheeses. Before you leave be sure to try one of the signature cocktails, such as the Cherry Bomb with Disaronno, Cointreau and the in house cocktail cherries that make this short, sour drink taste like a cherry bakewell in a glass.
