The British Queen, Locksbottom is a warm and welcoming family pub and brasserie serving a seasonal menu of British and French inspired favourites. The interior has been tastefully decorated and refurbished, with a cosy bar area, plus a 100-seat brasserie. The British Queen is part of Raymond Blanc’s White Brasserie Company Group.
The seasonal menu features lots of British pub favourites and French inspired dishes. Starters include the White Brasserie cheese souffle served with Wyke Cheddar sauce, and a delicious sounding potted Cornish crab served with prawn butter and sourdough toast.
You will find a selection of favourites on the menu at The British Queen, with dishes such as steak frites, free range gammon, and Cornish beef burger. You will also find a good range of lighter fish and chicken dishes, plus a number of vegetarian options, such as the mezze platter served with flatbreads and houmous.
Desserts feature classic dishes such as sticky toffee pudding and poached rhubarb crumble, there is also a pistachio souffle served with rich chocolate ice cream, plus a cheeseboard option.
The Sunday lunch menu offers a choice of roasts, choose between Cornish roast beef, sirloin of pork, half a roast chicken, or a beetroot and cherrywood smoked cheese parcel. All roasts come with cauliflower cheese, seasonal veg, Yorkshires, and rich bottomless gravy.
There is a children’s menu, plus a junior menu which features many dishes from the main restaurant simply served in smaller portions. The drinks menu is large and varied with plenty of good quality wines, beers, and spirits.
The British Queen is well positioned for those stopping off after a shopping trip to Locksbottom and Bromley, it is also close to Chislehurst caves, and Priory Gardens.
