If you've visited Bristol, or perhaps you're a lifelong local, you'll definitely know about The Apple. This is a cider bar with a twist, as you'll find it on a 1930's Dutch barge that is there to bring traditional farmhouse ciders to the heart of Bristol. You'll find The Apple at the end of Bristol's King Street, and since 2008, when it opened its doors, it's become a favourite in Bristol for affordable and great drinks. Although this floating bar doesn’t currently have a food menu, you’re welcome to bring your own food to nibble on if you like to pair your cider with something salty.
Old Bristolian cider starts the menu with 8.4%, and the rest of the farmhouse draught ciders include Rich's Medium, Tricky Wizard and UFO No. 5. If you prefer bottled cider, try the Thatchers Katy, Wyld Wood or Iford Wild Juice. There are also a range of beers and lagers on the menu, cider cans, wine, spirits and soft drinks. If you like fruity cider, which is especially delicious in the balmy summer months, try the Strawberry Daiquiri or Elderflower pints.
