Right in the heart of Cardiff city centre and just a short dash from Cardiff Central train station, Stable Pizza Cardiff is in a perfect location for those who want to grab a swift pint and a tasty sourdough pizza whilst they're in the Welsh capital.
Stable Pizza is all about sourdough pizzas and craft pints - mostly ciders, courtesy of this Dorset-born and West Country faithful pizza chain. It's a simple combination, but a successful one - the allure of a good pizza appeals to many of us, and what better to wash it down with than a pint of something cold? Stable Pizza puts real care and attention into both aspects of this equation. Beers and ciders come mostly from small-scale producers, and the selection circulates often, so there'll always be something new to try whenever you visit. Likewise, pizza dough is made fresh every day using Shipton Mill flour from Gloucestershire, and Stable uses British ingredients whenever possible, including Gloucestershire mozzarella, English rapeseed oil, Suffolk chorizo, cured meats from London's Cobble Lane and bacon from royally appointed Denhay Farm in Devon.
The results are fantastic, and clearly popular as Stable now has sites all over the south west of England. As well as classics like margherita and pepperoni, there are lots of fun and funky pizzas if you're feeling adventurous: there's the Great White, for example, a delicious combo of cheese sauce, smoked ham, garlic mushrooms, roast leeks, Barber’s cheddar and parsley; or try the Aubergine Kenobi - roast aubergine, sunblush tomatoes, mozzarella, Parmesan, spinach, roast pumpkin seeds, chilli and basil.
There's a smattering of salads, mac and cheeses, tater tots and puddings too, if you've still got room. Grab a table between 11.30am-4pm on a weekend and you can get stuck into a bottomless pizza brunch too!
