South Street Kitchen is an independent, laid-back, sustainable café and restaurant that’s designed for, and led by, the local community. Located in Park Hill, this multi-faceted venue and events space is available to hire for birthdays, corporate events, weddings and more. However, it’s first and foremost a place to socialise, relax and feast with friends, with a chilled-out vibe and plenty of crowd-pleasing plates to choose from.
The bright and modern space occupies two floors and offers views over Sheffield's skyline. Much of the existing architecture of the building has been left exposed, including concrete ceilings and old light switch boxes, while subtle Scandi touches bring the design up to date, from using pale oak throughout as well as geometric patterned tiles.
An all-day brunch vegetarian menu of Middle Eastern-inspired dishes is served seven days a week, including a huge array of breakfast, brunch and lunch options. Look out for homemade granola with berry compote and yoghurt, or Persian breakfast tea loaf served warm with cashew butter and homemade medjool date and orange blossom puree for something light. More substantial options include eggs or mushrooms on toast, as well as signature dishes including peas, broadbeans and mint smash on sourdough.
A selection of sandwiches and wraps feature fillings such as caramelised aubergine with rocket, sumac roasted red onion, lemon and roast garlic tahini, and grilled halloumi with roasted red pepper, baby spinach and coriander pesto. While specialities include epic mezze plates with all the trimmings, an all-day breakfast and ‘tart of the day’.
A wide range of teas and coffees are also available (including V60 and Aeropress coffee). South Street Kitchen is fully licensed, and offers beer, wine and cocktail menus, too.
