The Sky Lounge is one of the most picture perfect venues in Leeds, and home to a cracking bar that serves afternoon tea and bottomless brunch. There are a few sessions for you to choose from, including an earlier session which begins at 11am, and a later option that kicks off at 12.45pm.
First and foremost, your table will be served a selection of continental meats and cheeses, before you're asked to choose one of the delicious mains. Options include buttermilk fried chicken strips with waffles and spiced maple syrup, a roasted portobello mushroom with garlic white bean puree, vine tomatoes and charred malted bloomer, and maple and bourbon barbeque pulled pork with sweet potato, caramelised onion, peppers, sriracha chilli sauce and fried eggs. Your drinks will keep coming for 90 minutes, and there are choices of Pornstar Martinis, Bellinis and chilled glasses of Prosecco with plenty of fruit juices, softs, tea and coffee and spirits with mixers.
If it’s more of a refined afternoon experience you’re after, go for the afternoon tea, which puts a spin on a much loved British classic. Savoury choices with afternoon tea include pickled cucumber sandwiches with dill and shallot cream cheese, along with a sweet chilli roast chicken with coriander salad, and beetroot falafel wrap with spiced yoghurt. The sweet treats include a white chocolate raspberry delice, mini chocolate fudge cake and clementine tartlet. It wouldn't be an afternoon tea without a freshly baked scone from the bakery, served with strawberry preserve and clotted cream. As it should be!
