Slice in Swansea is a laid back restaurant that is run by the chef duo, Chris Harris and Adam Bannister. The restaurant is closed Monday through to Wednesday each week, and operates at various times the other four days of the week, with closing usually around 9pm. The team frequently share updates of what they’re cooking up on social media, whether that’s some home-tempered chocolate domes, or the fresh lobster that they’ve had delivered, and post their availability for last minute tables. If you’re lucky, you may get one.
Although the food is pretty impressive, the decor is simplistic, and you’ll be greeted by wooden furnishings and a light, open space, flooded by sunshine through the window.
The dishes here are super scrumptious, and you will be delighted by a three course menu. First, begin with some amuse bouche, and then enjoy a dish of roast quail breast, braised leg pithivier and butternut squash puree, or the textures of cauliflower with goats cheese and fresh truffle. For your main, perhaps you'll order the lamb rack, shank and neck, with brown butter mashed potato, purple sprouting broccoli and salsa verde, or the unique dish of barbecued halibut with charred leeks and cockle beurre blanc. Dust things off with a rich chocolate mousse served with salted caramel, popcorn ice cream and caramelised banana.
Even though the menu changes every week, you will always be delighted by the food offerings that are presented to you at Slice in Swansea. Expect dishes like a pavlova with strawberry salad and sorbet in the later summer months, and an aged beef tartare with beef fat and shallot beer puree on colder days.
