Located on the 34th floor of London’s iconic skyscraper The Shard, Sky Lounge is a comfortable and elegant space where guests can dine, drink and gaze over beautiful views of London from its fantastic vantage point. The lounge provides a relaxed setting to indulge in one of its menus, whether it’s a selection of small plates from the internationally-inspired food menu, its eponymous Sky Brunch on Sundays or a Champagne cocktail to toast a special occasion.
The standout feature of the bright and airy space is the vast floor-to-ceiling windows that boast panoramic views of the city below. A bright colour palette of greens and yellows has been employed throughout, particularly through snug armchair-like seating, leafy foliage and painted plant pots. Guests are seated at small round tables, with each one boasting its own miniature lamp.
On Fridays and Saturdays, guests can dine from the main food menu, which comprises a selection of luxurious small plates and sweet treats and takes inspiration from cuisines around the world. You might like to start with a selection of snacks and salads such as cauliflower bites with almond aioli, then move on to mains when you can opt for anything from a lobster roll to a spiced wok-fried beef. Finish on a sweet note with a chocolate mandarin mousse with sesame crunch or pandan panna cotta.
On Sundays it serves its Sky Brunch, which includes a glass of Champagne followed by a three-course meal, or the option to go bottomless for 90 minutes. An example of a three-course brunch might include slow cooked egg with asparagus, followed by Vietnamese style steamed seabass and a buffet of cheese and sweet treats.
The drinks list focuses largely on cocktails and sparkling. A collection named 'Sky Lounge Observatory Cocktails’ feature creations like Phoenix which mixes whisky, coffee bean infused amaro montenegro, rubino rosso and orange bitters. A host of premium Champagnes and wines are also on offer as well as spirits, beers and cider, mocktails and soft drinks.
