Rugby is a market town in eastern Warwickshire, with plenty of charm oozing out of its every corner. Rugby is close to the River Avon and is the second largest town in the region. The population in Rugby isn’t a massive one, but there is plenty to do in this beautiful part of England. You might have guessed it, Rugby is most famous for the invention of rugby football, a sport that is now played throughout the world. The creation of this ball sport is credited to William Webb Ellis, a school pupil who broke the rules of football in an 1823 match. In terms of things to do in Rugby, there is plenty. From hiking and sports, to taking a boat trip down the canal, there is lots of fun to be had with the whole family in tow.
