This place shouldn't be open until it's ready!
As a local, I was very much looking forward to trying this out – and in all honesty, first impressions were great as you soon as you walk in. Spacious, bright and airy with a lovely smiling welcome from our waitress.
However, the experience from then on was probably my worst in London – despite only 4 other couples there and us being the first to arrive, my friend's breakfast order (smoked salmon toasted sandwich) took 40 minutes to arrive, I had to ask three times for my espresso, my porridge arrived with a teaspoon and the side order of toast was rock hard with no butter … and to top it all off, when the bill arrived, we were told they didn't accept credit cards!
The waitress was absolutely charming and so lovely so I cannot fault her at all (in fact, she was the one saving grace) but the manager needs to get this sorted – when I asked him whay my friend's food was taking so long, he said “bear with us, we have only just opened” (poor excuse). As we left the restaurant, I couldn't help but notice he was calmly tucking into a cooked breakfast without a care in the world!
FYI, the two tables next to us also complained (and one couple walked out refusing to pay).
If you are going to open a restaurant, then get it right first time round – and don't play the “we have just opened” game! Will NOT be going back!
