The Rosa’s Thai empire shows no signs of slowing down, having now expanded out of London to include locations in Manchester and Liverpool. Back in London though, you can find this Waterloo location, which is conveniently located on The Cut, right outside Waterloo train station and only a five minute stroll from Southwark tube station.
The dining room at this Rosa’s Thai follows the same aesthetic as the rest of the group, featuring minimalist wooden furnishings and cosy booths that are well suited to small groups. The minimalist interiors are juxtaposed by a menu of both traditional and contemporary Thai dishes, full of flavour and spice, and served atop colourful mismatched crockery.
The menu is largely made up of small plates which are designed to share. To start, you can tuck into the familiar likes of satay chicken, deep-fried prawns coated in crispy breadcrumbs or honey marinated pork skewers. Larger dishes to try include a selection of Rosa’s famous noodles (namely Pad Thai topped with either chicken, prawns or veggies) as well as a handful of curries, ranging from the milder likes of massaman curry and green curry, to the tongue-tingling red curry with chicken and pineapple.
To pad out your meal, you can add on sides including egg fried rice, steamed mixed vegetables and steamed coconut rice, while there are Thai beers, Thai whiskey and a whole host of fun cocktails to help you wash it all down.
This branch of Rosa’s Thai is also only a short walk from both The Old Vic and the Young Vic theatres, making it a great shout for some casual pre-theatre dining before a show. It is good for breaks from the office too, thanks to the great value express Thai lunch menu.
Vegetarian and celiac-friendly menus also available.
