After a 30 minute walk in the rain, I got to Rocca perfectly on time for my booking and joined the queue. When the waitress came out to ask if anyone had a booking, I was the only one who said yes. However, just because I was a one person booking they decided to leave me waiting and seated groups of 3 and 4 who were behind me in the queue instead, even though they didn't have a booking, including squishing one of the groups onto a small table that was suitable for one person.
This sort of treatment of solo diners is revolting. Just tell me at the time when I call you to make a booking that you don't take 1 person bookings, and I'll gladly take my business elsewhere instead of having my time wasted after rushing to get there on time. I stood there waiting for over 15 minutes. What is the point in making a reservation then???
This set the theme for the night because it took forever to get any service, I even sat there with my empty plate for 20 minutes waiting for the bill, then another 10 minutes to bring over the card machine so that I could just get the hell out of there when I had been sitting there with my card ready for a total of half an hour by that point, while they went around to other tables who had requested their bill after me. I will not be dining here ever again and believe you me I will be spreading the word.
