Part of a £20m refit of the Amba Hotel, Grosvenor, Reunion is a chic and luxurious bar tricked out in cool shades with lots of twinkling glass, gilt mirrors, a chequerboard floor and classy fabrics. Cocktails are the order of the day here, with concoctions including lychee and elderflower Collins, and toffee Champagne (made with Havana Club rum, butterscotch schnapps and caramel), while ‘cocktail safaris’ are also available: your choice of martini and a ‘deluxe’ tipple, with a choice from the bartender thrown in. Hungry drinkers can order a ‘nibbler selection’ of whitebait or croque-monsieur fingers, with heartier dishes including charcuterie slates and sashimi boxes. For drink boffins, various masterclasses on spirits are held throughout the year.
