Llanerch Vineyard refers to itself as the UK's pioneering vineyard hotel. At this beautiful spot in South Wales, you can dine at their award-winning restaurant, and afterwards, take a stroll in the vineyard with a guided tour and follow up with some wine tasting. The restaurant is award winning, with two rosettes and offering a divine dining experience. The menu is crafted using locally sourced ingredients that reflect the seasons, and each dish is complemented by a great wine selection, from a long wine list.
If you fancy visiting for afternoon tea, dine in a picturesque setting in the garden room or dog friendly area. On your savoury slate, you'll find a sausage roll, mushroom vol au vent and a camembert quiche with chilli pepper. Then, you'll find a classic egg mayonnaise sandwich with cress, a tun and red onion filling on wholemeal bread, and lemon and rocket chicken sandwich with white bread. The middle tier includes the classics - strawberry jam, scones and clotted cream, with the top tier featuring an orange and passionfruit cheesecake, a rhubarb and custard choux bun and a malted chocolate tart.
At dinner time, start off your meal with a selection of the restaurant's cariad cocktails. Choose from the Llanerch Spritz, Marmalade Fizz or Negroni Sbagliato, or a Lemwn Spritz, Mr Cariad and Pale-Oma. Starters include a terrine of Welsh beef with ravigote sauce, oxtail croquant and red wine gastrique, along with langoustine quenelles. Mains range from the delicious Brecon venison with braised haunch and potato torte, grand veneur sauce and parsnips, and a roasted cod 'almondine'. Don't forget about dessert, and try the slice of treacle tart, or the nutty rhubarb and pistachio cheesecake.
