Sitting on the ground floor of the famed Beetham Tower, you’ll find Podium, tucked away inside Manchester’s iconic Hilton Hotel. Podium is a modern, warm space, in which you’ll be treated to an experience of luxury fine dining.
The menu on offer at Podium is put together by Executive Chef Dave Ashton, with dishes made from locally sourced and seasonal ingredients from the Northwest. The menu is changing, with seasonal variations making appearances throughout the year, including an autumn/winter, and a festive edition.
The menus themselves are not extensive, but the dishes you’ll find on there are carefully thought through, prepared, and presented. To start with, there’s a selection of nibbles for you to peruse, including warm sourdough bread, and a charcuterie board with peach chutney and pickles. As for the starters themselves, you’ll find some classics like duck liver parfait tart, as well as some more unique dishes, like Cornish crab with sweet corn and horseradish sorbet.
Mains are equally as indulgent and presented just as beautifully. There’s rib eye steak with triple cooked chips, watercress, and peppercorn sauce or chimichurri. Other options include pan fried chicken supreme with mushroom tart, black garlic, and parmesan. If you’re one of those who always craves a little something on the side, your choices are varied and unique: blue cheese and bacon fries, roast carrots with beef fat dressing and crispy onion, for instance.
With Podium finding home inside the Hilton, you’ll be dining in the same building as the iconic Cloud 23 bar, found on the top floor and holding the trophy of highest point in Manchester - it’s worth booking in for a drink after your meal to soak up the city views.
If you’d rather stay for dessert than go for a drink, you can choose from a small but delicious selection, including poached Williams pear with burnt honey cremeux, white chocolate crumble, and pear sorbet. It’s luxury and decadence from start to finish at Podium.
