Although it’s related to the original on Munster Road, this branch of Pappa Ciccia is an altogether bigger affair with more extensive facilities tailored to young families and big groups. Twelve-inch pizzas from the hand-built oven are the main business of the day, with around 15 different toppings including a half-moon ‘mezzaluna’ and an unusual ‘cold’ version topped with rocket salad, cured beef and mozzarella; you are also welcome to create your own combos from a big list of different ingredients. Otherwise, antipasti, bruschetti, and paninis are backed up by a host of familiar pasta dishes such as penne arrabbiata, lasagne al forno or spaghetti with meatballs. To finish, keep it in the family by ordering the torta della nonna or one of their homemade gelati. The restaurant is licensed, although you can also BYO. Takeaways too.
