About

A fun, lively, homely Italian in the heart of Crystal Palace, Palazzo offers honest, authentic Italian dining. The interiors will transport you back to the era of vinyls with its stacks of records, leather seats, bar stools and mix of reds, browns and greens. Everything is homely but full of class and authenticity.

Relaxed dining is certainly the goal of Palazzo with a communal atmosphere thats perfect for everyone before the place transforms into a great hang-out place with live music and DJs until late. On the menu, guests will find lots of familiar dishes that are bursting with classic Italian flavours as well as some inventive takes for those diners looking to be more adventurous.

Small and large plates are combined on the menu, with some giving you the option to have a starter or main portion of your favourite dish. Mozzarella fritti's are combined with a scotch bonnet honey, balancing out the fiery chilli with a sweetness that goes well with oozing cheese. Some of the dishes that you can transform into larger courses include the pork and veal meatballs, the chicken Milanese and the panzanella.

The next section of the menu is for pizza. Old favourites like a simple margherita are listed next to the vegetarian option of aubergine, salted ricotta and scotch bonnet honey; and a creative meat pizza with lamb, frirarelli, red onion and rosemary as its toppings. With a specials board that changes daily, Palazzo will offer an exciting dining experience every time you visit.

While the dessert selection is small, what more could you need than a staple tiramisu or gelato? Serving brunch on the weekends, authentic Italian food daily, and a great range of drinks, Palazzo covers all bases - from a relaxed, morning meal to a lively and trendy late night bar.

Horrific service and diabolical food

We have been here a few times and everything was great but tonight everything was terrible; the calamari was fried so much it was unidentifiable and burnt to a crisp. The chicory and rocket salad was soaked in vinegar that's all you could taste. All of the pizzas were soggy. So many toppings, dripping in oil. The meatballs were burnt and then covered in sauce to hide them and swimming in oil.  We asked for dry rose and were sent very sweet rose which we wound have dealt with if it had not been warm. They said it was brought from the cellar. The glasses were wet including having water in them which we decanted. Worse than all of this the supervisor was rude and aggressive and told us he could not do anything about it and when I said we would not pay for the food he said we had eaten some. I showed him the problems and asked him to try the burnt meat balls etc and he said he could not and if we refused to pay we had to leave immidiently, which we were doing anyway but he basically kicked us out.  He said we could not speak to manager.  I would avoid!

Not good enough

Most of the menu items were unavailable.  No squid, no lamb, no chicken, no Milanese, no meatballs.   2 out of the 4 pizza had the crust completely burned. Service was non existent.

The potatoes were nice and one of the pizza was good, but I wouldn't go back.
