Oddono’s has received plenty of critical plaudits since it opened, & regular queues are testament to its success with Joe Public, too. The huge display cabinet in the sunny yellow parlour has housed more than 130 icy confections since owner Christian Oddono launched the place in 2004: zany flavours such as Pimm’s sorbet, banoffee or smoked salmon have had their moment, though more traditional Madagascan vanilla or chocolate & hazelnut are the real crowd-pleasers. Friendly staff also serve up steaming coffees, creamy hot chocolates, waffles & ice-cream cakes. Customers can perch on brightly coloured stools & eat at the counter or wander the streets of South Kensington, cone in hand. Other Oddono’s outlets can be found in Selfridges & Whiteleys.
