All-day bar and kitchen Oak & Poppy in the heart of Hampstead is the sixth opening from First Restaurant Group, which also lays claim to The Grafton Arms in Fitzrovia, The One Tun in Farringdon and The Hayden in Notting Hill. Diners can order a range of seasonal nutritious dishes from the all-day menu, offering a versatile spot for families and friends to pop in for a relaxed meal, from breakfast through to dinner.
The trendy pink and green dining room sits beneath a retractable glass roof that floods the space with natural light and offers a fantastic spot to soak up the rays in summer. The interiors have been designed by creative director Meredith Winston with a focus on soft colours, natural materials and lush accents. In the centre of the dining room is a bespoke hand-crafted wooden tree, while complementary foliage is dotted throughout the space to continue the verdant theme. Light oak takes the form of tables, chairs and parquet flooring, while pastel pink tones are used to soften the space, from the walls to the fabrics and tables, before being finished with elegant brass flourishes.
Dishes on the all-day menu are perfect for sharing, with lunch and dinner items including things like fish tacos with pickled slaw and chipotle mayo, lemon sole with fennel salad, crushed potatoes and green salsa, soy and lime glazed salmon with egg nooldes, pak choy shiitake mushrooms and sesame seeds and a beef burger with cheddar, pickles and kimchi mayo.
Epic brunch options feature signature dishes such as buttermilk hotcakes with berries, ricotta and maple syrup and an indulgent PB & J croissant. Plenty of breakfast classics are also available for traditionalists.
To drink, look out for creative cocktails such as Poppy’s Orchard with gin, drambuie, fresh apple juice and lemon, or The Forager with rosemary infused vodka, elderflower liqueur and grapefruit juice. A well-selected wine list is also on offer to enjoy alongside the global menu.
