Located on Brick Lane, red-fronted Nude Espresso is serious about its coffee – all beans are aged for seven days, before being individually roasted and graded by eye. The food is taken seriously, too, with bread baked in-house, alongside sweet treats such as wild berry muffins, Chelsea buns, passion-fruit doughnuts and chocolate-chip cookies. There’s also plenty of more substantial, savoury stuff including smoked ham hock with spiced beans on toast, warm falafel wraps or colcannon cakes with chorizo, poached egg and red pepper coulis. Coffee-wise, try the smooth house blend in various guises; otherwise, settle for Koko deluxe hot chocolate, Chash tea or a refreshing Luscombe juice. Pre-packed 250g bags of expertly sourced coffee from around the world are available to buy and take home.
