Norton House Hotel has a fine restaurant, one that has recently been awarded an AA Rosette. Inside the restaurant, you'll be surrounded by chic and modern furnishings that provide an ambience to match, with an exciting menu that is made up with ingredients sourced locally in South Wales. The set dinner menu has been crafted by Norton House Hotel's Michelin trained chef, and includes exciting modern dishes with a few classics thrown in. Whilst this is a hotel, non-residents are welcome to dine here. Dinner is served every night between 6 and 9pm, with lunch from Thursday until Saturday between 12 and 2pm, and Sunday roasts served between 12 and 3pm.
The set dinner menu begins with starters of red pepper and carrot soup, a ham hock terrine with crusty bread and a festive spiced red onion chutney, and a traditional prawn cocktail with Marie Rose sauce. Main dishes range from the pan fried salmon with sauce vierge and crushed new potatoes, along with a vegan lentil loaf with a tomato glaze, roast potatoes and vegan gravy, and the 8oz rib eye with tenderstem broccoli, triple cooked chips, grilled vine tomatoes and peppercorn sauce. For dessert, enjoy a sticky toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce, a chocolate parfit, or trio of sorbets to cleanse your palette.
On Sundays, enjoy two or three courses, and begin with duck spring rolls with a hoisin sauce and salad, or a roasted beetroot salad with walnut and apple. For your main, choose from a roast leg of pork, roast beef, pan fried chicken, pan fried hake, or lentil loaf. Roasts come with honey roast parsnips, roast potatoes, rich gravy, chipolatas, and seasonal greens. Dessert ensures things end on a sweet note, and include the chocolate delice with miso caramel sauce.
