First impressions…nice looking restaurant.
I had booked a table but some guests didnt make it, so we were sent to the upper floor…
If you like eating in a bustling atmosphere first thing…opt to occupy a table on the ground floor, upstairs is for the quieter speakers or the romantic twosomes…
Service overall was what you'd expect in a decent restaurant, good. For the avid Chinese food eaters, some dishes on the North of Chinas' restaurant were quite different to many that I have eaten in. The best dish for me was the Chilli Beef and the Smoked Chicken. A bone of contention for many will be – Chilli Beef! Many restaurants make it, crispy, crunchy, sweet, but you ask, where is the beef in this dish. North of China have this dish spot on, seasoned well, crispy slightly smokey and yes..there is beef and this dish they do exceptionally well, the best I have eaten in over 10 years..their take on smoked chicken was also very well executed. Kung Po Prawns however, crunchy but lacked seasoning for my taste buds. The duck should have been far more crunchy that it was also. Wine not too badly priced either. Will visit again for my two prize dishes.
