Tokri is a contemporary Indian cuisine restaurant in Ealing with a handy location just a short walk from Acton Town station. Headed up by Head Chef Ram Kishor, Ram boasts over 15 years of hospitality and foodservice experience as the CEO of Tokri and Riya Foods Ltd catering, and with his restaurant aims to create a place where everyone can enjoy both traditional and modern flavours of Indian cooking.
After undergoing a recent renovation, the restaurant is a lovely place to be and has been updated with a beautiful interiors concept. Think parquet, wooden flooring, botanical wallpaper and velvet banquets, for a light, contemporary space to get together with friends or family.
Why not start off with a drink? The bar offers a selection of international beers, wine, premium spirits and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as a detailed list of expertly mixed cocktails. A delicious first drink could be an Appletini which mixes Vodka infused with cloudy apple juice, maple syrup and lemon juice, or what about a rum negroni with Golden dark rum infused with sweet red vermouth with campari?
As for starters, we like the sound of dipping into some Indian street food like beetroot and soya tikki which mixes Tadka yoghurt, wild mustard and curry leaves or typical small plates like chicken tikka with yogurt, coriander and kachumber salad, alongside Barbary duck with mix peppers, onions and pineapple chutney.
Mains tick off plenty of the traditional currys most guests will hope to see, from butter chicken and lamb rogan josh to pork-cheek vindaloo to paneer makni. If you're looking for a recommendation from the team, they'll likely tell you about the Tokri Chana Chaat, which is a house signature. This dish mixes a medley of ratte potatoes and protein-packed chickpeas marinated in aromatic spices, topped with sweet and tangy yogurt, fresh mint, tart tamarind chutney.
