The Ritz unveils its Secret Garden Bar

The Ritz may be one of the most famous hotels in the world, but it continues to surprise us.

On Monday 13 May, The Ritz will open its Secret Garden Bar for the summer season, allowing guests to soak up the sunshine. Away from the hustle and bustle of Mayfair, the Secret Garden Bar offers somewhat of a secluded oasis for guests, where they can drink and dine alfresco.

The garden has been designed with trimmed topiary, olive trees and verdant green foliage, while the paths are lined with fragrant lavender pots and colourful flower boxes featuring geraniums.

The Secret Garden Bar will be open every day of the week during the summer months, although it will close when the famously unreliable British weather isn’t playing ball. Open from 11am, guests can enjoy a lingering lunch on the patio or spend an afternoon sipping cocktails – sounds pretty dreamy to us.

Come evening, the garden is given some added charm with twinkling lights and candles, all set to soft music playing in the background. Of course, the most important part of a bar is its drinks, and The Secret Garden Bar has a full menu available throughout the day and night. Seasonal cocktails are found alongside a selection of wines and Champagnes, while peckish visitors can tuck into traditional dishes such as The Ritz classic club sandwich and The Ritz Caesar salad, as well as British seafood platters to share, with dressed crab, oysters, lobster, shrimp and prawns. A caviar menu is also available, natch.

Cigar aficionados will also want to make a pit stop here, as The Secret Garden Bar boasts a collection of premium and limited-edition cigars, including twelve different Ritz London Cigars, which are available for guests to enjoy in the garden.

The Secret Garden Bar at The Ritz is open from Monday 13 May. A minimum spend of £19 per person applies to all tables.
