Popular coffee chain Pret A Manger is doubling the discount on its Club Pret subscription from 5 September. The brand will increase the discount on food, drinks and snacks from 10% to 20%.
Those subscribed to Club Pret currently benefit from five barista-made drinks a day, plus 10% off any additional drinks and food, for £30 a month. When the scheme was first introduced, it cost just £20 a month for customers. The service then saw its first price increase in February 2022 to £25 a month.
Club Pret was started in an attempt to help the chain during the Covid-19 pandemic and has continued for the last three years due to its popularity. Prices were increased to £30 a month in April 2023 when the rebranding of Club Pret was rolled out.
Pret has also said that it’s looking to go international with the scheme, expanding to the US next month, and France in November. Currently, new customers who sign up to the subscription can get the first month for half the price.
'Club Pret was built on the idea of rewarding our most loyal customers, giving them more reasons to visit Pret and helping them enjoy everything our menu has to offer', says Pano Christou, CEO of Pret A Manger.
He continues: 'We're now ready to take this even further, doubling the Club Pret discount and expanding this offer to customers outside of the UK. Club Pret has become a critical part of our growth strategy and we're excited to bring it to more people than ever before, delivering great value in the process.'
Pret reported that it’s up 31% year on year, with 17.8 million redemptions in the past few months alone. The company has seen a return on profit for the first time since 2018. Club Pret is a major reason for its success, following reports that 20% of transactions from subscribers include a purchase alongside the redemption of a drink.
