MasterChef: The Professionals finalists face a rematch

MasterChef: The Professionals 2019 may be over, but for those of you still craving a dose of the cooking show to get you through January, MasterChef: The Professionals Rematch is coming soon.

Contestants from previous years of the intense competition will head to Adam Handling’s The Frog Hoxton to collaborate on a special six-course menu on 16 January. The participants will be Adam Handling, Sven-Hanson Britt, and Michelle Trusselle, who have all gone on to achieve massive success following the TV competition.

Adam Handling won series 6 of MasterChef: The Professionals back in 2014, and has proceeded to rack up accolades such as The Caterer’s 30 under 30 to watch and British Culinary Federation’s Chef of the Year, among many more. Handling has four restaurants under his belt, Frog by Adam HandlingThe Frog Hoxton, Adam Handling Chelsea and Ugly Butterly - a luxury zero waste venture - which have all been well received. The chef also heads up Eve Bar and Bean & Wheat, a cafe and bar at Old Street.

Joining Handling in his kitchen will be Michelle Trusselle. After making it through to the semi-finals of the competition, the Michelin-trained professional chef has continued to work in some of London’s finest kitchens, as well as being private chef for royalty, former Prime Ministers, and fashion designers. Trusselle has also launched Myristica, a supper club based around modern Caribbean food.

Completing the line-up is Sven-Hanson Britt, who wowed the MasterChef judges, making it to the finals with his wonderful creations. Britt has had a busy time since leaving the competition, with him preparing for his Oxeye restaurant - a farm-led concept - to open in London this year. His cooking is inspired by South Derbyshire, where he rears and grows produce, as well as from the top restaurants (Mugaritz, Michel Bras, The Ritz, Blue Hill Farm) he has worked at over the years.

The three highly accomplished chefs will be working together instead of competing, each drawing on their own expertise to bring something unique to the menu. Tickets are available to purchase for fans eager to experience front row action from the open kitchen. The show was broadcast on BBC Two on New Year's Day at 7pm.
