Luxury fashion house Louis Vuitton is set to open its first ever restaurant next month.
Christened Le Café V, the restaurant will feature a dining room with an adjoining bar, as well as an outdoor terrace. The restaurant is expected to open its doors on 15 February, just one day after Valentine's Day.
Londoners hoping to get a taste of some LV-branded dishes have a long way to travel though, as Le Café V is initially only opening its doors in Japan. The new opening will be found on the top floor of Louis Vuitton’s new outpost in Osaka, which is four storeys high.
It is not yet known what food and drink the restaurant will serve, but the menu has been designed by acclaimed Japanese chef Yosuke Suga. Diners will eat off of specially designed plates which can be used as wireless phone chargers, the creation of designer Tokujin Yoshioka.

Michael Burke, Louis Vuitton’s chairman and chief executive officer, has also hinted that more restaurants and even hotels could be in the pipeline for the brand. Louis Vuitton is part of the LVMH group, which has recently been expanding its remit into the hospitality sector. Recently, American jeweller Tiffany & Co, which LVMH acquired last year, announced it would be opening the Blue Box Café at famous London department store Harrods, thus making Breakfast at Tiffany’s a reality.
In March 2019, LVMH also put forward planning documents for a new luxury hotel, restaurant and spa in Mayfair, London. The hotel is schedule to open in 2022, although construction has not yet begun as the group are still awaiting planning permission. Furthermore, in December 2018, LVMH bought luxury hotel group Belmond and the Orient Express service for $3 billion. Belmond boasts 46 properties around the globe and in the UK, operates the Cadogan Hotel in Chelsea and Le Manoir Aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.
