This Christmas designated drivers can enjoy a free soft drink at over 1,000 UK pubs thanks to a new partnership.
During the Christmas party season, it can often be difficult to secure a ride home with minicab phone lines constantly engaged and Uber prices surging. That’s why it’s always useful to have a designated driver in your gang who stays off the booze so that you can all get home safe.
To give a little incentive to those helping with rides home this Christmas, soft drinks giant Coca Cola has teamed up with pub group Greene King to offer all designated drivers one free glass of Coke, Diet Coke or a bottle of alcohol-free Heineken.
This is actually the tenth year in a row that the two companies have teamed up for this initiative and claiming your free drink is easy as mince pie. All you have to do is show your car keys at the bar at one of more than 1,000 Greene King pubs across the UK, and then you’ll receive a voucher for ‘buy one drink, get one soft drink free’.
This is the first year that Heineken has got involved, offering up its relatively new alcohol-free beers. That means you can enjoy a bottle of beer and feel part of the festivities, while still being safe to drive yourself and your friends home.
Phil Thomas, Chief Commercial Officer at Greene King, said: “As a leading pub company, we have an important role to play in helping to promote responsible drinking and we have given away around a quarter of a million free Coca-Cola products over the past decade as part of the Designated Driver campaign.”
The offer is available at selected Greene King pubs around the UK until 1 January 2020. Simply show your car keys at the bar and purchase a Heineken 0.0, any 330ml bottle of Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Coca-Cola Zero Sugar or 275ml Appletiser to get a voucher for a free soft drink with your next purchase.
