This summer, upmarket steakhouse Smith & Wollensky is taking diners back to their childhood with bottomless ice cream sundaes.
Suitable for both big kids and actual children, Smith & Wollensky’s new Sundae Sessions launched on 16 June, and will take place every Saturday and Sunday in the restaurant going forward, between the hours of 10.30am and 3.30pm.
The sessions mean that guests can create their own bespoke sundae, before finishing it off by choosing from a table heaving with toppings. There are more than 15 to choose from, so will you pick Smith & Wollensky branded wafers and homemade honeycomb, or instead opt for raspberry marshmallows and fresh berries? No matter what toppings you choose, lashings of warm caramel sauce to finish up seems like the only sensible option.
The Sundae Sessions are priced at £9 for adults and £5 for children. During the sessions, adults will receive three scoops of ice cream while children will get two, which they can then load up with their favourite toppings from the generous selection. If you’re looking to enjoy the ultimate indulgence, you can choose the bottomless option, which lasts for one whole hour and means unlimited ice cream and toppings (priced at £15 for adults and £9 for children).
Speaking about the launch of Sundae Sessions, Smith & Wollensky’s executive chef Tom Cook said: “I wanted to create the ultimate dessert for weekend brunching and customisable sundaes are a perfect fit for summer. We have something for everyone with our toppings and it's a real excuse to indulge your sweet tooth!”
