1 booked this restaurant for a family lunch to celebrate a 95th birthday and there were 18 of us on 1st august 2010 , i had read testimonials online which were glowing so was extremely disappointed by the service which was slow and incoordinate ie- some people finishing starters when others had not even recieved theirs, the food portions were less than generous for instance mushroom bruchetta consisted of a tiny slice of bread with what looked like one and a half mushrooms on it , i believe the chef made one too many and we were told by the hostess that she would “ let that pass” virtually implying we had been dishonest, my smoked fish platter was surrounded by pink mayonnaise even though i had asked for no dressing ,i was told to eat around it! and my cousins lobster bisque was like eating a fish stock cube. the main course was ok but spoiled by miniscule portions of vegetables swimming in buttery water i had asked for a portion without and recieved some that had obviously been rinsed but not completely as there were still globules of butter remaining, my aunt whose birthday it was paid the bill as a treat to eveyone, we had all travelled considerable distance the whole eating experience was one big disappointment and i would not recommend sunday lunch there in fact i was so hungry i fancied a snack on the way home.
