It can be difficult to stand out when you’re surrounded by others offering something very similar indeed but Muhib Indian Cuisine manages to do just that - making itself a must try on the restaurant heavy Brick Lane in East London. Like many other restaurants on this infamous street, Muhib Indian Cuisine has its roots in Bangladesh, specifically the northern region close to Assam. But although Muhib’s menu might have began in Bangladesh, it certainly doesn’t end there. In fact, the comprehensive selection ranges from excellent biryanis to masalas and beyond, taking in the best of flavours from the Subcontinent. Clean and classically decorated, Muhib’s dining room is comfortable and unfussy, painted in yellow and cream and featuring simple furnishings. Service meanwhile is efficient and polite, the staff knowledgeable about the menu and happy to make recommendations. Booking in advance is essential, especially at weekends as Muhib is extremely popular both with locals.
