Mowgli is located on Boar Lane in Leeds city centre. It is a relaxed dining experience bringing Indian cuisine to the heart of Leeds. The menu is full of flavourful home-made dishes and authentic street food. The restaurant is lit with lanterns and fairy lights creating a magical atmosphere, which is added to by the chance to sit at your table on a swing suspended from the ceiling.
The extensive menu is split into sections. The street meats section offers mouth-watering dishes such as the gunpowder chicken, the monkey wrap and Maa’s lamb chops while the Hindu kitchen section features the vegan showstopper holy chow and 'staff favourite', Mowgli paneer.
The house kitchen selection includes house lamb curry and Aunty Geeta’s prawn curry, with a number of curry companions to choose from in the form of sides. These include the sweet and nutty Calcutta tangled greens and Mowgli Pure, a pillowy soft fried golden flat bread. Mowgli also offers generous gluten-free and vegan menus.
When it comes to dessert, don't skip the gulab jamu which is made up of syrupy brown nutty milk dough balls served with ice cream. It is compared to an Indian version of a sticky toffee pudding, a classic in Indian family homes. Other desserts include the Mowgli chocolate brownies and an array of homemade ice cream cones. You will also find a selection of night-caps, fresh tea, coffee and hot chocolate as well as a large selection of wine, beer and spirits to choose from.
For the little ones, the children’s menu offers a selection of main dishes and desserts featuring butter chicken and the temple dahl. For dessert, some fruity fizztails or the Mowgli twister are sure to be a hit.
If you are celebrating a special occasion, choose to eat from the set celebration menu or if you are having a party with family or friends, the party menu is the one for you.
