Mooncat Bar takes its inspiration from the moon's beauty and pairs it with the playful charm of cats. In this vibrant, fun bar, you'll get to enjoy a unique concept of Japanese food blended with duelling pianos, and surrounded by a celestial themed setting. The beautiful Japanese dishes will be prepared by the skilled chefs, whilst the mixologists craft moon inspired cocktails and will draw you in with a selection of sake. Learn about Japan's rich culinary heritage, dance the night away and watch the space come alive under the night sky.
There are just a few small plates to begin the menu, including a plate of gyozas with a choice of filling served with a flavourful sauce, the fried octopus balls with Tonkatsu sauce, Japanese mayo and bonito flakes, and the deep fried prawns with salad and Japanese mayo. To enjoy the Japanese specials, order the yasai bento with pumpkin and sweet potato korokke katsu curry, Japanese rice, salted edamame, cucumber hosomaki, yasai gyoza, miso soup and JP pickles. The yakisoba chicken or tofu is made with stir fried soba noodles, carrot, pak choi, red onion and bean sprouts in a choice of teriyaki or chilli sauce, garnished with ginger, sesame seeds, spring onions and fried shallots.
The Japanese fried chicken is a showstopper, and includes the traditional karaage crispy fried chicken thighs that are marinated in soy sauce, garlic and ginger, along with the chicken wings that come in a variety of sauce options. For yakitori or kushikatsu, try the moon platter that contains a few of each, paired with veggie gyozas and homemade Japanese sauces. And of course, there's sushi. We'd order the futomaki with ebi katsu, avocado and salmon.
