Mimi's bar and restaurant offers a fine dining experience in a relaxed environment in the heart of Weybridge, surrounded by boutiques and fellow eateries. Though the restaurant's concept highlights Mediterranean flavours, the team go above and beyond to source in-season ingredients from suppliers who are as local as possible.
The decor, like the food, opts for pleasing simplicity, seamlessly blending both classic and modern design. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful period building with a smart red-brick facade and ornate doorway, juxtaposed by crittal windows. Inside, punches of colours interact well with fresh, white tablecloths and statement lighting. At the heart of the venue sits the bar, around which there are various dining and drinking nooks to cosy up with a drink.
The menu changes with the seasons and offers a different selection of dishes for lunch and la carte dinner. Inspired by 'long summers growing up on the Menorca coast', the chefs aim to create a vibrant and versatile range of dishes that pay homage to the seasons. To start, for example, you might expect to try something like the salmon tartare with harissa, fresh spring onion, samphire and zingy lime, or the octopus with butternut squash, chilli and cherry tomatoes - a dish which has received much fan fare from locals.
For mains, there are delights such as guinea fowl, cavolo nero, carrot, creamed potato and red wine jus, alongside cod, asparagus, pea, cauliflower, samphire and white wine velouté. Or you could choose something from the grill such as the Scotch chateaubriand. Those with a sweet tooth will enjoy the likes of chocolate moelleux, with dulce de leche, vanilla and cocoa or vanilla panna cotta with strawberry, shortbread, meringue and kiwi. The bar staff are enthusiastic about serving up great cocktails and recommend a classic Espresso Martini or Old Fashioned for after dessert.
