Silvermere Inn on the Lake is a bar and bistro, wedding venue and events space, based in Surrey. As the name suggests, this rustic-looking building is nestled on the edge of a charming lake, with views out across the water and surrounding woodland. In the day time, it’s a picturesque space for al fresco dining or enjoying a crisp, cold drink, while at night the festoon lighting illuminates the lake’s reflection and creates an enchanted forest feel.
The bar and bistro is open every day from 8am for breakfast, right up until 10pm for dinner and drinks (apart from Sundays, when closing is at 9pm). The food menu is rooted in locality and the chefs work with suppliers in the area to bring together dishes using only the freshest, seasonal ingredients. In the day time, expect a selection of light bites and artisan sandwiches such as smoked salmon and cream cheese in a focaccia roll, Lebanese chicken wrap and coconut prawns. Come evening, mains such as slow cooked pork belly with bacon mashed potato and apple cider sauce, and steak and Guinness pie are sure to keep you well fed.
The drinks menu spans a mix of beer and wines, as well as some ‘old favourites’ from the cocktail department including Pimms and lemonade and Aperol Spritz. For a more casual setting, try The Range Café which opens between 8am and 5.30pm, Wednesday and Thursday, and 7am to 4.30pm on Friday and Sunday. This cute café is open all year round and serves coffee, tea, hot chocolates, cakes and paninis – perfect for an afternoon walk. And, once the warmer weather is here to stay, you can also visit the Island Bar. On a terrace overlooking the water, this fun bar is kitted out with deckchairs to create a holiday vibe and has beautiful views of the surrounding greenery.
