Playful menus, glamorous cocktails and killer views of St Paul's - Madison really has it all. Visitors to the penthouse restaurant can enjoy small plates and grilled treats, while those who venture onto the roof terrace can survey the city from a unique vantage point over cocktails with live music and DJs for good measure.
Madison caters to all types of gatherings, from quick catch-ups to full-blown parties. Start things off with Oscietra caviar blinis, salmon ceviche tacos, beef tartare, burrata or United States classics like chicken and cornbread waffles. Mains will delight those of the meat, fish or vegetable persuasions equally, with a choice of grilled steaks, whole lobster or wild mushrooms with crispy polenta, salsa verde and parmesan. The decadence continues when it comes to the sides, such as thick-cut beef dripping chips or roast garlic and taleggio bread. Desserts finish things off beautifully with the likes of cookie dough, creme brulee, Mississippi mud pie or a spiced apple spring roll.
In true New York-style, there is of course a brunch menu on the weekend. Lavish staples from across the pond include steak and eggs, maple brioche french toast, lobster Benedict and mushroom and potato hash with smoked chilli dressing. Those not looking for a full meal can choose from a range of American-style bar snacks, including buttermilk fried chicken or a shellfish platter.
A panoramic view like this goes extremely well with a glass of bubbly, and Madison has a selection of just that by the glass, as well as a separate Tattinger menu. House cocktails here are truly creative. Try the Dream-Catcher made with Ketel One Peach, orange blossom, butterflypea tea, Supasawa and elderflower foam, or the Slope Side consisting of Casamigos white tequila, Boudier ginger liquor, mandarin syrup and lemon. If these cocktails aren't quite luxurious enough, the Deluxe Pornstar Martini comes with white chocolate angel wings, Rosé champagne, 24k edible gold, Sauvelle vodka, passionfruit, egg white, vanilla and apple.
