I went to this restaurant last year with a friend of mine, and i unfortunately got sick and they were nice enough to call the ambulance. i came back a week later to give my thanks and ate there, left tip as form of my appreciation, service was good and food was nice. By the way, my friend paid the bill for that night i went to hospital!
Fast forward last week, when i went there and i specifically asked for the simplest steak and a good price no more than £25-£30 per person. And i was served by this gentleman(Dark long hair Italian man with glasses, quite slim/small, where he claimed he was manager aswell), he asked me to take a seat, then he came back with a bill of £46.00. This is not a cheap steak and i believed that it was only fair to dispute this as i specifically asked. He argued that i have to pay this and i ordered this, which i DID NOT.
When i asked to speak to the manager, he told me that i didnt even pay the bill from LAST YEAR! when i got taken to hospital and that i shouldn't come back to the restaurant.
No empathy or even basic understanding in customer service, In the end the actual manager gave me a discount, and i also had to explain to him that the bill was paid last year which wasn't great to be accused off!
I will be taking this further as this is not just unacceptable and right out lies and accusations. This type of behavior should not be taken lightly, and has to be rectified.
I felt discriminated, i will never come back here again. I have worked in exmouth market for years and a customer for longer, this is not acceptable. I do hope its a one off as i have come here before and everything was great.
