Lussmans was previously located in The Egyptian House, but after 16 years they moved to this beautiful new location in Hertford. On Fore Street, you will step inside and experience the most stylish environment, with an elegant combination of leather, wood and glass.
The menus at Lussmanns do rotate depending on the seasons, and reflect what produce is best available. To start, why not enjoy the pea, lettuce and green herb soup, or the onglet steak bruschetta with oyster mushrooms, peppers and onions. Additional dishes of South Coast crab linguine, thyme-roasted beetroot and woodland-reared Sussex ham hock terrine are also available for starters.
With many delicious main dishes to choose from, you'll always find something that takes your fancy. The free range Blythburgh pork cutlet sounds delicious, and comes topped with garlic and parsley butter, whilst the harissa spiced cauliflower florets and oyster mushrooms are a great choice for vegetarians. Other main dishes include the organic lamb burger with North African spices, whole Cornish sole, pistou and windrush goat's cheese salad and linguine alla norma.
Don't skip dessert at Lussmanns, as there are many wonderful choices to choose from. You'll be spoilt for choice with rhubarb pavlova or affogato al caffe. For something a bit different, try the sweet and bitter orange brulee, the pineapple carpaccio or the single origin dark chocolate mousse with nut brittle.
If you're a local, you can enjoy the locals' set menu between 12 and 6.30pm each day. Choose from two or three courses, and start with boquerones with slow roasted tomatoes and marjoram, before enjoying a main course of Anglais free range chicken Caesar salad with mangalitsa streaky, poached egg and aged parmesan. If you choose to have pudding, try the Seville orange and almond pudding with creme fraiche.
